Its that time of year again! Summer is finally here, which means two things to gardeners, Japanese Beetles, and Black Spot on Roses! Here is my expert advice on how to treat the two. For Japanese Beetles, there is a number of things. Start with picking up a bottle of Seven.

This will kill the beetles on contact. You could set up a trap, this will attract more, however, if you put it away from your flowers, it is entertaining to watch them drop in the bag. Most important thing is to put down a grub control in the summer and fall, and kill the larvae before they turn into a grub which then turns into the Japanese Beetle. For Blackspot on your beautiful roses, use Bayer Advanced All In One for Roses. This contains a fertilizer, disease control, and insect control. This is the best product we have found to treat and cure blackspot.
