Finally its time to plant! The time has arrived for doing you outdoor container gardens. Many of you have attended my container garden workshops and have taken in the spillers, fillers, and thrillers concept. Those are the three components to making the perfect container garden. Spiller would be a plant that cascades over the side of a pot such as vinca vine, fiber optic grass, or bacopa. Filler would be a plant that fills up space such as a geranium, impatien, or petunia. Thriller is your wow factor. It is the plant that will give height and personality to your container garden. Take with you this simple rule of thumb, thriller, filler, and spiller, and you will be on your way to an awesome container garden.

Helpful Hint: For those with large containers, instead of filling the whole pot with potting soil, try filling half of it with packing peanuts, plastic pots left over from your plantings or pop cans!

SPRING PLANTING

Village Green is your flower headquarters this spring.
